Saturday’s wedding … where to begin!

I’ll post more soon, but for now let’s focus on their first dance as husband and wife. For this special moment Kirstie and Darren chose Ellie Goulding’s version of Your Song

Following that Kirstie danced with her Dad, Colin, and Darren with his Mum, Rita, to this beautiful song from Faith Hill.

Jen & Martin’s Wedding (2)

I first met Jen and Martin at a wedding fair way back in April 2010. Over a year later they contacted me and I went to their place for a chat and they booked me to play at their reception which finally happened last month ~ 28 months after that first chat.

They actually got married in 2010 but wanted to renew their vows and have a big party for their family and friends, so that’s what they did on a beautiful Summer’s day at Marwell. I was booked to provide the evening entertainment which was held in the marquee at the rear of the hall in the walled garden, it’s a lovely setting right in the centre of the zoo – you may well have walked past it not realising it was even there.

It was a great evening with many special moments including a dance-off, an “In The Night Garden” dance for Jen and Martin’s lovely daughter Jasmine, a dance for Nana, and Jen seeing her Dad dance for the first time in her life!

Here’s a video I cobbled together from clips and photo’s I snapped on the night ~ as always please remember I’m not a photographer or a videographer and this is something I just try and do if I have time, it’s not a service I supply or charge for, it’s just a bit of fun.

A few days back I posted a video I cobbled together following Kelly & Bobby’s wedding at Bartley Lodge. As I mentioned I don’t put things in the public domain unless the couple give their consent – here’s the email I received.

Hi Paul

Hope your keeping well, out of all the pictures I have seen from the wedding your video below is the first glimpse of the day that made me cry thank you sooo much for putting it together and please yes could you make it public so everyone else can view it as well.

Me and Bobby and our families and friends cannot thank you enough for being part of our special day, you were much much more than just a dj you provided a top quality service that I don’t think anyone else could have pulled it off, you truly were a diamond on the day and everyone has said what a lovely person you were, easy to get along with and kept everything on track.

Thank you for going into so much detail with all our song choices even though I couldn’t just sit down and listen to everything you played I will always remember everytime I heard what was playing at a particular moment of the day thinking ohh I love this song lol and the evening party went off exactly how I wanted it to it was perfect and thank you for letting me get on the mic everytime I wanted to 🙂

I am just going to go and post a thanks on fb and your website, if anyone ever asks me for a dj in future I will definitely recommend you and if we have any birthdays/christenings I may call you up to see if you aren’t busy you would do us a one off favour as it doesn’t seem real now you have been such a special part of our special day we won’t get to see you again.

Again Paul I cannot thank you enough you really did do a fantastic job.
We really hope you carry on making other couples days so special for many more years to come.

Kelly & Bobby’s video

You may notice that sometimes there can be a lengthy delay between an event and some of my posts. The reasons for this are that I’m busy doing other things and, more importantly that I always like to show the couples what I’d like to publish first.

So let’s go back to 21st July and Kelly and Bobby’s very special day at the Bartley Lodge. Kelly and Bobby’s wedding was awesome on so many levels. I was with them for the whole day supplying music and host services throughout.
