Day 3 ~ WOW Wedding Countdown ~ THE WHY

The WOW Wedding Countdown is a tip a day that I hope will help you with your wedding planning and give you a flavour of how attending my “Creating Your WOW Wedding” evening might benefit you. Today we are going to look at THE WHY

countdown-day- THE WOW

Today is the third in the series so make sure you scroll down to see the previous entries and bookmark this blog or follow my FaceBook page for more free advice.

So in the last two posts I gave you the “W’ and “O” of my slightly dodgy WOW Wedding acronym …
W Weave in your personality using your wow factors.
O Others involvement ~ Get others involved.
and the the last “W” is …
THE WHY ~ Explain your choices to your guests so that they understand the significance.

I you don’t explain the WHY the first two really don’t work! If you tell people about the ideas you’ve weaved into the day and told them who these people are that have help you turn your dream into reality thy can really connect with you and your day. If you name your tables after your favourite bands make sure you include some of their music even if it’s just in the background and perhaps add a not to ht e table setting that says when you saw the band in concert or something that explains the “WHY”. If your chief bridesmaid is your best friend since the first day at school let everybody know … the choices you make are so much more relevant if you share them with your family and friends.

There are so many little things like this that will help you to make a wedding where everybody feels engaged in the day rather than just a spectator and that is what my “Creating Your WOW Wedding” evening is all about – so don’t miss out

Day Two ~ The WOW Wedding Countdown … 29!

Just in case you missed it yesterday, the WOW Wedding Countdown is a tip a day that I hope will help you with your wedding planning and give you a flavour of how attending my “Creating Your WOW Wedding” evening might benefit you.

countdown-day-2

Wow Wedding Countdown ~ Tip 2
The “O” in WOW stands for OTHERS
Get others involved in your wedding.
You will have talented friends and family who will love to help you prepare for your special day.

Have your family and friends participate directly in your wedding day. This goes way beyond just inviting them to do a reading at your ceremony.
For example, if you have a professional or gifted amateur singer or musician attending, ask them to perform for your ceremony or during the reception.
I’ve been at weddings which included performances by guests who were singers, guitarists, actors, comedians and magicians.
You may know people who are gifted in crafts and making things … the list goes on.
Maybe it could be a special dance routine with friends, hens or stags.
When you are creating your WOW wedding get others involved and everything will become more memorable!

At my Creating Your WOW Wedding evening on 15th November I’ll be running through a wedding timeline explaining how you can use these ideas to make your wedding totally unique, elegant and fun. Tickets are £10 per couple and there is a money-back guarantee AND every £10 goes to The Countess Mountbatten Hospice. Wedding Planning, What’s Worrying You?

Wedding DJ Hampshire

With so many choices and so many decisions to be made planning a wedding can stress lots of couples out.
So, if you are Wedding planning, what’s worrying you?

If you look through my blog, YouTube and FaceBook pages you’ll find lots of answers, but maybe not the one you are looking for.

That’s why I’m asking YOU the simple question “what’s worrying you?”

This year I’ve already done a couple of videos on basic planning called Congratulations On Your Engagement and Just Three Words

As well as one on What If It Rains On Your Wedding Day?

and What If Nobody Dances At My Wedding?

(please CLICK on the pink hi-lighted video titles above to view them in another window)

There are loads more – including my ABC/123 series where I’m running through a typical wedding timeline explain what is likely to happen and how can you make the most of every moment.

I only do 30 weddings a year, most of those are local to me in The New Forest, along the M27 and up the M3 corridor but I love helping couples wherever they are and whether they book me or not. So please get in touch with your questions, come on…

What’s bothering YOU?

Please email paul@thepartydj.co.uk with your questions TODAY.

It never seems to stop …

2015 has been such fun! So much has happened and there’s still more to come.  Tomorrow I have an all-day wedding full of wonderful surprises for the lovely couples friends and family. Then I have a bit of a lull in bookings so hopefully I can get back to some of the other things I wanted to do this year!

I say hopefully because there is still lots going on including a wedding fair on Sunday at the Grand Harbour in Southampton and then another of my “Creating Your WOW Wedding evenings, this time at The Ring Studio, on Thursday evening.

Come learn how to plan your wedding so you can relax and enjoy it as your friends and family have a great time celebrating your Love story.

This is a FREE Seminar for Engaged Couples along with their friends and family but space is limited so email paul@thepartydj.co.uk to reserve your seats.

The Wow Wedding guy

The voting process fro the National Wedding Industry Awards closes in a weeks time.  Most of my eligible couples have voted but I need to just remind a few more – I know they are busy too.

So, you see, it never stops, there is always something to do.

The really frustrating thing is how hard it is to explain what I do and how I’m different from other DJ’s people have seen. If you have any thoughts on this and would like to share them with me PLEASE DO!  Email me on paul@thepartydj.co.uk, I’d love to know what YOU think.  Thanks.

What an amazing year already for The Party DJ

Southampton Party DJ

Hello … did you miss me?

I set out with the best intentions of posting regularly and keeping up to date with everything but like many other bloggers I never quite deliver what I intended.  The reason is simple … I’m just too busy having fun!

Here we are in June and I know I promised lots of videos with great content about wedding planning and posts about the weddings I’ve been doing but life just seems to get in the way.  This year has been full of fabulous couples and clients with plenty more to come and I will try and get some blogs together but everything takes time and the next few weeks are looking even busier.  I know I’ve said it before but every wedding I work on takes at least 40 hours of planning with three or four meetings, site visits, preparing of playlists, love stories, props, and then a further 12 to 16 hours on-site on the actual day of the wedding.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love it!

I’ve made a few decisions this year that are going to help me offer an even more focused service.  The main one is that I won’t take functions on consecutive days – this means if a couple book me for their wedding I won’t be working at any other functions for a clear 48 hours before, unless I’m called on to help out one of my Party Host colleagues in an absolute emergency.  My availability will be even more restricted – with no more than 30 weddings in a year and only one booking in any given weekend.  By doing this I hope to offer the best possible service to my couples and deliver amazing, unique, elegant and fun weddings.

I’m also going to spend more time helping people with their wedding planning by holding more of the WOW Wedding Guy “Creating Your WOW Wedding” and events for Bridegrooms. Details of this Autumns events coming soon.  If you know someone who is planning to get married point them this way – I offer lots of free resources and tips.  There will be more videos and blogs soon I promise.  CLICK HERE to go to a post about my wedding tips series and CLICK HERE for one more.  If you’d like more information about booking The Party DJ for your wedding or be added to the list for information about the Autumns WOW Wedding Guy events, just email paul@thepartydj.co.uk

That’s it for now, thanks for reading this.

Episode 13 ~ Wedding Ceremony Music

    Winslowe House DJ

“If Music Be The Food Of Love, Play on” ~ this episode takes it’s inspiration from that line in Shakespeare’s 12th Night.

Your wedding ceremony is the reason for everything and sets the tone for the whole celebration, so getting it right and making it really special should be a priority. It’s a great chance to stamp your identities on the day and show your family and friends that this is going to be the best wedding they’ve ever attended.

You’ll be looking for music to be played or performed …
… As your guests enter the ceremony space and are directed by your ushers to their seats
… for the Bridal party entrance – this is known as the processional
… during the signing of the register and subsequent photos
… and finally for your walk back down the aisle as husband and wife – this is known as the recessional.

For a civil ceremony you can can choose any music you want as long as it doesn’t have religious connotations. So if you want something crazy, you can. My only recommendation would be that you pick things you’ll be happy with in 20 or 30 years time when you look back on this most special of days.

Most venues will have some kind of music play-out system in place – but think about it – will what’s on offer really be able to captivate and enthrall your guests. The in-house system is often an iPod dock or a ghetto blaster,
… who is putting the music together for you?
… who is going to push the buttons for you?
… will it have enough oomph to create that special goosebumps moment?

I can help you with your musical choices and make special edits of tracks to make sure the right part of the song is playing at the right time – especially for the processional and recessional to enhance the moment. And I can supply a discrete, professional audio system

So, think carefully about what your going to choose and how to make sure those precious moments sound as good as they look and “If Music Be The Food Of Love, Play on”

Here’s the previous episode in the series

    Episode 12 ~ 30 Minutes!

    wedding tips

Here’s another video-log with wedding advice to help you with planning your big day.

This time I focus on the ceremony, those 30 minutes where everything changes forever!

There are a number of ways you can create your own special atmosphere and start the whole celebration in a way that will engage all your guests – we’ll talk about music another time – for now I want to look at the principles I talk about in the WOW Wedding guide where the focus is on …
    Weaving in your own personalities,
    getting Others involved,
and explaining Why things are significant.

This is episode 12, so if you haven’t see the other eleven then check them out, they are full of great wedding advice to help you.
