Update …

I just wanted to quickly update you on things because it’s all been a bit manic over the last couple of weeks and I’m taking a winter sun break and will be away for a few days.

First the Groom’s Workshop was great fun. Thanks to the guys who turned up, we were only a small group but I know we all got something out of our time together. The Bell is a lovely venue and I’m sure we’ll go back there again. I hope to announce two more venues soon, one over to the east of Southampton and another possibly in East Dorset. More information early next month (March).

Once I’m back from my break we have 3 wedding fairs booked at The Botleigh Grange, The DeVere New Place and The Wessex Conference Centre – again more info soon.

Also confirmed are my next 3 dates at The Concorde Club. I’ll be there on Saturday 3rd March, Saturday 5th May and Saturday 7th July.

Salisbury Racecourse

So today was the Salisbury Racecourse wedding event and it was great to see so many more new couples planning their weddings.

This was the view from the window behind my stand …

I did DJ for a couple a long time ago in the room I was exhibiting in today, but as I say it was a long time ago so I can’t remember much about it except that it was brilliant! 😉 I’ve also been there as a corporate guest on a race day and was very impressed with hospitality and catering offered.

I was very fortunate to have secured the use of one of the National Association of DJ’s (NADJ) new banners for the event, and proudly stood it next to my table.

I’m very proud to be a member of NADJ and regularly the meetings of our South Central branch.

Sorry I haven’t posted for a few days, it’s been a little mad here at Party DJ Towers!

Last Sunday, as mentioned previously, was the Wedding Fair at Winchester Guildhall. I’d forgotten just how wonderful the rooms there are. I’ve played for some great couples there in the past and had some fabulous parties. More information about weddings at Winchester Guildhall can be found here.

As well as meeting lots of lovely couples I also had a chance to meet a few suppliers I hadn’t talked with before. I’m always on the lookout for new gist ideas and I was particularly taken with the engraved bottles and giftware that Joe and Ria, from Beekhof Trading, had on display.

I was also very impressed with the Brandywine Trio. William, Paul and Sam played a brilliant mix of jazz standards from the fifties right up to date. If you are looking for some quality guitar-led jazz I’d strongly suggest you check these guys out.

January 14th ~ The Concorde Club, Eastleigh

Tonight I’m back at the fabulous Concorde Club for my first visit of 2012. I’m usually there about once every six weeks or so, and I’m always touched by how friendly everyone is and the warm welcome I receive.

According to the Club website, tonight we also have singer Ellie James performing so it should be a particularly fine evening.

Southampton Guildhall

Yesterday we were at the Southampton Guildhall for the first Wedding Daze Exhibition of 2012 and it was my pleasure to compere and supply the music for the fashion show. The dresses for the show were provided by Josephine’s Bridal Collection from Southampton and Brides of Winchester. Hair and make-up for the Brides was taken care of by Kutz N Beauty, Once Upon A Time Tiaras and Penny Lane Flowers provided the tiaras and floral arrangements on the catwalk.

It was fantastic to see so many couples that, even these difficult times, want to show each other, and the world, their commitment and love.
