Introducing Fuerte Fine SpeedQuizzing!

My buddy Gary and I are running a campaign to raise the profile of our Speedquizzing on Fuerteventura. As part of this, we are running two free quizzes a week for the rest of July. As a previous supporter of my fundraising quiz nights. If you’ve already played SpeedQuizzing with me and donated to Cancer Research in Ce’s memory, I’d like to invite you to join us if you’d like to play again.

I’ll be doing Tuesday evenings and Gary, and his wife Gail will be hosting on Fridays. The quiz will start each night at 8pm (the doors open at 7:30) and will last around 2 hours.

How to play with Fuerte Fine SpeedQuizzing

To play you need to register and reserve your free place via TicketTailor. You will get a confirmation email with the Zoom link. Then, when you enter the Zoom room, you’ll get your SpeedQuizzing Live pin to play.

Speedquizzing is great fun. Some of the reviews and feedback we have had really cracks me up – when people tell you it’s “the best night they’ve had in lockdown” I really worry for them! For how to play PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Wednesday Night, what a blast!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, and… I’ll get to the “and” in a bit 😉

Thank you to everyone who played in the quiz on Wednesday. I hope you enjoyed it. If you have no idea what I’m talking about PLEASE CLICK HERE.

We had people from Fuerteventura, America, Italy (briefly), The Isle of Man and various places in England! Well done to The Lockdown Losers from Fuerteventura who won on the final question – and commiserations to Sue, so near and yet so far!

SpeedQuizzing Live

I want to offer quizzes as a party option for you and raise some more money for Cancer Research.

Let me explain, I wish I had thought of this sooner, but that’s life! Anyway, YOU can have your own Zoom / SpeedQuizzing Live party with me hosting for a £100 donation to Cancer Research. I’ll put together a full two-hour quiz for you and your friends including at least 24 personalised questions all about you, or whatever you choose. If you want, you can also encourage your party attendees to donate to Cancer Research or a charity of your own choice. I’ll even make sure the Zoom room stays open for you all to have a good catch up too.

At the moment this is only available online – perfect for socially distanced events and to connect family and friends all over the World. I’ll cover the Zoom and SpeedQuizzing costs so every penny of your £100 will go to Cancer Research through Ce’s Just Giving Page.

I think it’s a great way to bring people together and celebrate whatever you want. You’ll even get the chance to welcome everyone and make a speech if you want!

Quiztastical Big Night In For Ce ~ Wednesday 3rd June 2020

This coming Wednesday I’m hosting the ‘Quiztastical Big Night In For Ce’ and YOU are invited!

Let me explain… In April 2019 I lost my wife, Cecilia, to Cancer. She was 59. Ce was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer in December 2002 and since then it has been with us every day since then. She beat it the first time but then it came back as Secondary Bone Cancer in June 2014. So Cancer Research is a cause very close to my heart.

Next Wednesday, 3rd June, is Ce’s birthday and I decided to do something in her memory and, hopefully at the same time, raise money for Cancer Research – so we’re having an online quiz and, as I said before, YOU are invited!

When I say it’s an online quiz I may be underselling it. If you haven’t used the SpeedQuizzing Live app before, you are in for a pleasant surprise. Basically it turns your phone into an answer pad. When you get the answer right you score points, and there are bonus points for the fastest finger with the correct answer. No pens, no paper, no cheating, and for me the best thing is no adding up and no disputes!

As well as your phone or a tablet for the app, you’ll need another tablet or a computer to run Zoom. There you’ll be able to see the questions and interact with the other players. Here’s a picture from my practice session on Thursday:
