Engaged over the festive period? Congratulations!

Congratulations to everyone who got engaged over the festive period. It’s a special time of year and now it will be even more special for you. My late wife, Ce, and I got engaged on Boxing Day a long time ago so I know how it feels.

4 Tips to get you started

So now the big adventure begins. Plenty of big decisions to make but please don’t worry about it – there is plenty of good help and advice to be had. Make sure you take some time for just the two of you to find out what each other want. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and get carried away.

1. Why not start with the simple “describe your wedding in 3 or 4 words” exercise. Both of you write down you words without showing each other and then talk through your ideas.

2. You can CLICK HERE to see my Your WOW Wedding booklet. It’s full of great advice.

3. Then talk to your married friends and family. Ask them what they loved about their weddings and ask them if there’s anything they’d do differently.

4. My final recommendation is to visit wedding fairs and talk to the exhibitors. You don’t have to book anything, just ask questions and listen to the answers you are given. If you really like a supplier get their details and do some research on them. My first fair of the New Year is on Sunday 5th January – I’ll post full details early next week.

That’s it for this post. If you got engaged over the festive period don’t forget to request your free WOW Wedding Guide and CONGRATULATIONS!

Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre This Sunday

It’s Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre this Sunday and Ce and I will be there. It is one of the most popular venues in the area and I’ve done lots of weddings there with more booked for this year. CLICK HERE for more about Rhinefield House Weddings.

The Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre is always a great event with lots of couples looking for great suppliers and many of my friends will be exhibiting including Carole from The Flower Stables and Kim and Krysia from Kim Collins Photography.

As always, I recommend that whenever you visit an event like this you should try and speak to EVERY exhibitor – they are experts and will usually be happy to help with advice even if they can’t do your date.

I haven’t managed to attend as many wedding fairs as usual this year so I’m really looking forward to Sunday, PLUS I now have a new WOW Wedding events scheduled to tell people about.

This Sunday’s Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre starts at 10:30am and ends around 3pm, there is a £2 entry fee which includes a bridal bag and show guide. It’s organised by the excellent Stylish Events. The Fayre is actually held in The Hurst Castle Suite which is away from the part of the hotel where weddings normally held but there will be plenty of signage to direct you. I look forward to seeing you there.

Episode 12 ~ 30 Minutes!

wedding tips

Here’s another video-log with wedding advice to help you with planning your big day.

This time I focus on the ceremony, those 30 minutes where everything changes forever!

There are a number of ways you can create your own special atmosphere and start the whole celebration in a way that will engage all your guests – we’ll talk about music another time – for now I want to look at the principles I talk about in the WOW Wedding guide where the focus is on …
Weaving in your own personalities,
getting Others involved,
and explaining Why things are significant.

This is episode 12, so if you haven’t see the other eleven then check them out, they are full of great wedding advice to help you.

Sophie & Tom in Wedding Ideas magazine

1 coverThe April edition of Wedding Ideas magazine arrived in the newsagents this week and one of my couples from last year are among the featured weddings. Hey it’s Sophie & Tom in Wedding Ideas magazine.

Their wedding was held at Bartley Lodge, almost a year ago, at the beginning of May. In fact it was on May the fourth which explains some of the pictures you’ll see in the article.

I was introduced to Sophie and Tom by Mia, their photographer, and I was able to help with plenty of ideas that were included in their amazing day. Tom told me after their wedding that when we first met he couldn’t understand where I was going with my questions about their vision for the day but by the time I left he was really excited about my involvement with their planning.

At just £2.99 Wedding Ideas is great value for money with lots of great ideas to help couples plan their wedding day. There are also competitions with over £10,000 worth of fabulous prizes to be won including a chance to win a Photo Booth from our friends at Gigglebooth!

Happy March Everybody!

Great Hampshire weddings

February was quite a month with lots of Wedding Fairs, meetings, and my first WOW Wedding event. I haven’t posted as often as I’d have liked but hopefully that will change in March.

My campaign to stamp out boring weddings continues and I’m delighted to announce that following on from that first WOW event I’m in the process of scheduling three more this year and I’m also bringing back the Bridegroom’s Workshop full of great advice to help really make sure they make the most of their wedding day. I’ll be announcing the dates for the next events later this week so stay tuned!
