Laurel Designs

Recently I was delighted to attend the opening of the new Laurel Designs studio.

Laurel Designs was founded by, and is run by, my friend Carol Slark from her home in Lower Swanwick.
Carol and her team specialise in producing handmade bespoke stationery and many other wedding accessories. Carol created the beautiful folders The Party Hosts used for me and has provided the stationery and decor for many of my couples in recent years.

Carol and Laurel Designs have one won many awards in recent years and I am delighted that they joined us in the Hampshire Wedding Group in 2015.

Now many Brides take on the creation of their own stationery and decorations, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it’s not as easy as it looks and can be very time consuming. Laurel Designs are experts and understand that many couples are looking for something unique and handmade bespoke stationery is a great place to start.

Great wedding stationery sets the scene for what is to come by giving a hint of your colour scheme and the theme for your wedding. Carol offers a personal service, she can plan to your budget so you can select everything you want from the creation of your stationery, to the dressing of the venue.

The Laurel Designs Studio offer centrepieces, decor and many other products, which are available for hire or purchase.

Working alongside Carol is Laura, another friend I’ve known for quite a while – I first mentioned her here back in 2012 after we met at a wedding fair. Laura owns her own company LC Sweet Occasions providing a wonderful range of guarantee high-quality sweets. Laura works alongside Carol creating their beautiful handcrafted stationery.

Sues joined the team a few months back and does all the admin and is Carol’s PA answering emails and keeping records up to date.

New to the Laurel Team is Kirsty. I first met Kirsty when she was the wedding coordinator at Elmers Court.. Kirsty has organised a huge range of Weddings, Private and Corporate Events throughout her career and has a great eye for detail and is now utilising the experience she has amassed in her new role as a Wedding P.A.

This new service from Laurel can give advice on basics like finding your perfect wedding venue and sourcing high quality suppliers. They can also help planning your timeline, provide templates for Guest Lists and Table Plans, set up and co-ordination on the day along with advice and support on budgeting.
