Time to recharge my battery
I’m currently taking some time to recharge my battery.
I may go into more details later but for now let’s just say the last few months have been a very testing time on a personal level. Sadly my beautiful wife, Ce, passed away at the end of April. She had been living with Cancer for sixteen years and we always knew the day would come.
As you can imagine, a lot has happened and my circumstances have changed dramatically, so I’m taking my time to plan the next chapter. I have a few weeks with no weddings so I’m away doing my thing and writing up the scripts, play lists and Love Stories (click here) for the bookings I have later in the month.
One of the major principles Ce and I lived by over those years was to always schedule things to look forward to. There was always something, usually many things, booked into our diaries including gig tickets and holidays. When you work for yourself it’s really important to plan ahead. You need to make sure you get holidays. It’s very tempting to try and fill every weekend with a booking but you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to take a break.
Even though I’m away I am still totally contactable for all of my couples and potential clients. In fact my internet connectivity is probably better than at home. Our get away destination of choice is Fuerteventura (click here) and I’ve been very fortunate to spend a lot of time here in recent years. In the coming months I expect to have some exciting news to share with you – if you follow me on social media you may have an inkling of what’s to come 😉
Don’t forget to take time to recharge your batteries.
