Wedding Planning Tips

So, how am I doing?  I said I was going to post 100 vlogs in 2015 and so far so good with that.

The question is, is anyone (beside DJ’s who want to know what I know 😉 ) actually watching my vlogs?  I’d love to hear what YOU think – just a quick email to paul@thepartydj.co.uk would be brilliant.

You can use the same email address to get a copy of my “Your WOW Wedding” guide and also if you want to find out more about the special event I’m holding on Tuesday 3rd February.

Katie and Andrew

Sorry, yet again I’ve neglected this blog – I have loads to catch up on so please keep an eye out for more posts very soon!

Kings Court DJ

Last Saturday was Katie and Andrew’s wedding and I was their evening party DJ. They used the FaceBook group method for collecting music ideas from their friends and, once I’d added in their choices, I had about 7 hours of requests to fit into about two and a half hours.

We had a LOT of fun and I’ll post more about it soon … I promise … honestly … you just wait 😉

Chilworth Manor Wedding

D&I day

This was actually my first New Years Eve wedding and my first visit to the Chilworth Manor since I returned to DJ’ing just over 3 years ago. I provided music for the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening party as well as acting as host on behalf of the Bride and Bridegroom. Chilworth Manor is a lovely venue and the team were very attentive and helpful at all times. I’d certainly recommend having a chat with Chenine on 023 8076 7333 or email her on weddings@chilworth-manor.co.uk if you’d like your wedding close to Southampton. CLICK HERE for more information about Chilworth Manor.

The Lord Selborne Suite had been dressed by my friends from Balloonique and looked lovely, they had covered the drapes, added a twinkling backdrop to the top table and a starlit canopy to the ceiling. I added some uplighters to the columns for the day and my usual up-lighters and booth for the evening. CLICK HERE for more about Balloonique.

It was a lovely day and I hope to post more once the Bride and Bridegroom return from their honeymoon.

D&I Eve

Tonight ~ The Concorde Club

I’m really looking forward to my latest visit to the Concorde tonight – it’s been a while. The Concorde is open to members and their guests only ~ more information HERE

Then it’s up bright and early on Sunday morning for the Wedding Fair at the Swan Hotel Alton – no rest for the wicked!

Jen & Martin’s Wedding (2)

I first met Jen and Martin at a wedding fair way back in April 2010. Over a year later they contacted me and I went to their place for a chat and they booked me to play at their reception which finally happened last month ~ 28 months after that first chat.

They actually got married in 2010 but wanted to renew their vows and have a big party for their family and friends, so that’s what they did on a beautiful Summer’s day at Marwell. I was booked to provide the evening entertainment which was held in the marquee at the rear of the hall in the walled garden, it’s a lovely setting right in the centre of the zoo – you may well have walked past it not realising it was even there.

It was a great evening with many special moments including a dance-off, an “In The Night Garden” dance for Jen and Martin’s lovely daughter Jasmine, a dance for Nana, and Jen seeing her Dad dance for the first time in her life!

Here’s a video I cobbled together from clips and photo’s I snapped on the night ~ as always please remember I’m not a photographer or a videographer and this is something I just try and do if I have time, it’s not a service I supply or charge for, it’s just a bit of fun.

Here’s one last picture of a fabulous couple … and their very happy DJ

Georgina’s Wedding Blog Update

You may remember a while ago I posted the first four in a series of Wedding Blogs from a lady called Georgina (comedy writer and actress Anna Morris), if you missed them CLICK HERE

I’m pretty sure the wedding was this month – I wonder if it will actually go ahead (yes I know it’s all a spoof, but how will it end?) I believe Georgina / Anna is currently performing at the Edinburgh fringe. Anyway, here are the latest 3 videos in the series …

Jen & Martin (1)

Saturday night at one of my favourite venues with a couple I first met in April 2010 ~ I am so lucky to be able to do what I do!

The venue was Marwell, the couple were Jen and Martin, their first dance was to Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love”.

More on both this weekends weddings very soon.

I haven’t been quiet …

… I’ve just been very busy!

Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, so many things to do and so little time to do it all. It’s been a week of admin, meetings and planning. I’ve had meetings with two very special couples who’s weddings are imminent and I’m so excited about them – you’d think it was me who was getting married!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned my FaceBook page ~ “The Party DJ”. If you use FaceBook I’d really value your support, please give it a “like” and share it with your friends 🙂

Finally, here’s another video I haven’t shared here before. It’s from a wedding I did back in April for lovely Sharon and Dave.

Saturday 7th July ~ The Concorde Club
