How’s it going to sound?

Ceremony sound

In the last two episodes of my wedding tips blogs I talked you through your ceremony and your ceremony music. How it sets the tone for the whole day and what you will probably need.

This time I want to show you just one example of why booking someone like me to look after your ceremony sound can make a HUGE difference to a really important moment in your day, your recessional.

If you’ve opted for an in-house sound system at your venue with one of your friends pushing the button …
do they know what they are doing?
do they know what to expect?
and are they ready?
and how’s it going to sound?

If you book a professional, like me, he’ll have a professional sound system and he’ll probably offer to make special edits of tracks for youTo find out why, watch the video.

A beautiful Bridal entrance …

Wedding music

My New Years Eve Wedding had many beautiful moments and the entrance of the Bridal Party really was special. Picture the scene, the registrar asks the assembled family and friends to stand and this wonderful song comes on …

Ceremony Music

Another of the services I offer is providing the music for the wedding ceremony. Great production of the music for your ceremony can set the tone for the whole day. Before I returned to DJ’ing I’d actually been asked by several friends to play their ceremony music for them at their weddings ~ it was a really nerve-racking thing to do, I was pushing buttons on machines that I didn’t know and although I managed it was far from ideal.

Many venues provide a sound system, usually a domestic portable cd player or iPod doc, and usually expect you to provide the music to play and the person to control it for you. Is this the right way to start the most important ceremony in your life?

Here’s a document one of my colleagues, DJ Terry Lewis, developed. I’ve adapted it slightly and I hope it will give you food for thought.

Here’s a picture another colleague took at a local hotel recently.
You can see a small domestic CD player has been provided

Here’s our system at New Place last Saturday, set up discreetly at the rear of the room using professional sound equipment ~

Music For The Bridal Party Entrance

One of the services I offer is music for the Wedding Ceremony. By using a professional quality P.A. system we can move emotions and create a far more dramatic moment than just by pushing the play button on a c.d. player or an iPod. We plan the timings for the various members of the Bridal Party to enter so that when the Bride finally appears in the doorway, and makes her way to the registrar’s table and her Bridegroom, the song is at it’s peek ~ this can be really powerful.

You can have any music you want at a civl ceremony as long as it doesn’t mention God. I can talk you through the process of selecting your music and I can edit your songs to make sure they have the maximum effect ~ it’s all part of the service.

Saturday was a prime example where everything was planned and the family and friends were visibly moved by Bridal Party entrance. What a beautiful, powerful song …
