Life Sounds Better To Music ~ November 2020
Life Sounds Better To Music ~ November 2020 is a bit quieter than the previous months. I guess that’s because everything is now out ahead of Christmas. Back in the day, I had my own record shop in partnership with my friend Michael and all the big releases were out by now. I did post quite a lot of tracks in October PLEASE CLICK HERE which included a Thanksgiving Day song.
Having said that, there were a few big albums earlier in the month but nothing really got me particularly excited. So, here are the few things that got into my head during November 2020.
Royal Blood ~ Trouble’s Coming (Purple Disco Machine Remix)
English rock duo Royal Blood are not the type of band you’d normally expect to see featured here. Following on from their 2017 album “How Did We Get So Dark” the multi-award winning rock duo’s are back with new material. This is their first-ever official remix courtesy of DJ and producer Tino Piontek, aka Purple Disco Machine who has transformed their comeback track into this slick, modern disco groove. Just when you think you’ve heard it all …
Loyle Carner ~ Drive, Live, Feel Another Way
Maybe I did finally lose the plot – this IS an advert! As far as I understand it’s not even a complete song. I guess I would describe it as modern poetry, Here’s a quote I found …
Under the name ‘Drive, Live, Feel Another Way with the new CUPRA Formentor’, the launch campaign for the new Seat Cupra Formentor reflects on those emotions that make us feel alive. Through a visual metaphor, the actress of ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Fast and the Furious’ Nathalie Emmanuel throws herself into the void, on an introspective journey from the stratosphere to Cape Formentor, where she meets the new model of CUPRA. The fall takes the protagonist to her childhood to remind her that there is something inside her that pushes her to live intensely, in a parallel with the adrenaline and emotion that she feels when driving the Formentor. The song was composed exclusively for the campaign by British rapper Loyle Carner.
AND THEN THIS HAPPENS!
Another Seat advert – The Rhythm Of Life.
The team putting there TV ads are really knocking it out of the park! I still haven’t managed to find who this is doing a new version of The Rhythm Of Life – if you know please let me know. The song original comes from the musical “Sweet Charity” and is probably best known for the Sammy Davis Jr recording.
John Mayer … hours of fantastic live footage
John Mayer holds a very special place in my heart. I saw him with my late wife many times and a couple of those with our children including a fantastic night at The Royal Albert Hall on my 50th birthday.
What I think has happened here is someone has managed to get a great audio recording from John’s 2019 tour and has carefully edited lots of different YouTube video content to fit it. The result is incredible. There are to be four of these I believe.
Life Sounds Better To Music ~ November 2020, it’s been a strange month. I did listen to, and quite like, the Ariana Grande album, “Positions”, but it’s full of gratuitous bad language and sex – I must be getting old. There was other stuff too. Maybe I just spent too long listening to podcasts this month.
Anyway, that’s it for this time – see you at the end of the year!
