November Weddings

Following on from last weeks post entitled “Is October the new June for Weddings, today I’m looking at November Weddings. This year I don’t have any November bookings but in previous years I’ve had up to three weddings in the month. There have been some beautiful Autumn days this November and the colours have been beautiful as always.

November Weddings

The weather for November Weddings is, as always, a very important factor. Again I went to myweather2.com (CLICK HERE) for some weather information

Temperature ~ In recent times the highest recorded temperature in November has been 17°C that’s 63°F, with the lowest recorded temperature -6°C, about 21°F.Generally the highs have been around 11°C

Rain ~ The average monthly amount of precipitation has been recorded at around 74 mm, that’s 3 inches. Throughout the month you can expect to see rain or drizzle falling on 19 days of the month.

Sunshine ~ For November expect the sun to shine for an average of 4 hours per day.

In conclusion, with weather like that, it’s probably fair to say that November Weddings are more likely to be focused on the indoor space. Log fires and mulled wine might be incorporated into a day of cozy celebrations.

November Weddings

The pictures in this post come from weddings at Rhinefield House, The Doubletree Hilton at Chilworth and New Place at Shirrell Heath which is now owned by Legacy Hotels. At each of these weddings the weather was kind enough to allow for some photos to be taken outside. As I said last time, the important thing is to make sure you plan for every eventuality, especially when it comes to your photography and getting the big group shots.

Fireworks, and especially sparklers, are definitely “in” for weddings at the moment and November is the month for fireworks with bonfire night.

For people who really love Autumn and the colours of the leaves turning, November is a wonderful month to get married, especially the first half before Christmas starts to take over – and talking of Christmas next weeks post will look at December weddings.

Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre This Sunday

It’s Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre this Sunday and Ce and I will be there. It is one of the most popular venues in the area and I’ve done lots of weddings there with more booked for this year. CLICK HERE for more about Rhinefield House Weddings.

The Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre is always a great event with lots of couples looking for great suppliers and many of my friends will be exhibiting including Carole from The Flower Stables and Kim and Krysia from Kim Collins Photography.

As always, I recommend that whenever you visit an event like this you should try and speak to EVERY exhibitor – they are experts and will usually be happy to help with advice even if they can’t do your date.

I haven’t managed to attend as many wedding fairs as usual this year so I’m really looking forward to Sunday, PLUS I now have a new WOW Wedding events scheduled to tell people about.

This Sunday’s Rhinefield House Wedding Fayre starts at 10:30am and ends around 3pm, there is a £2 entry fee which includes a bridal bag and show guide. It’s organised by the excellent Stylish Events. The Fayre is actually held in The Hurst Castle Suite which is away from the part of the hotel where weddings normally held but there will be plenty of signage to direct you. I look forward to seeing you there.

Wedding Fair Preparations

Happy Monday ~ it a new week and I’m very busy with Wedding Fair preparations.

If you are planning to a wedding and looking for fresh ideas and inspiration, wedding fairs are a great pace to start. What I like most about wedding fairs from a couples point of view is that you’ll get to meet real wedding experts.

However, be aware that …
1) not every supplier is an expert (even if they are exhibiting at a wedding fair).
2) find out if the person you are speaking to is actually the person who will be working for you
3) you don’t have to book everything you see

I made a video that may help you find the right suppliers for your wedding.

If you find this video useful there are plenty more available on my YouTube page.

On Sunday 9th October 2016 there are two excellent events you should consider attending. The first is the Hampshire Wedding Group Wedding Fayre at Ampfield Golf & Country Club near Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 9BQ. between 11am and 3pm. I am one of the founding members of this group and meet with the suppliers once a month – these are good people I can personally vouch for and recommend. Ce, my wife, will be representing The Party DJ at this event so make sure you say hello to her and all the exhibitors who really do know a thing or two about weddings.

At this event The Hampshire Wedding Group will be giving away over £3,000 worth of vouchers to spend with our expert suppliers. You can pre-register for the prize draw CLICK HERE.
Parking and entry is free but please consider donating a small amount to the charity we are supporting ~ The Countess Mountbatten Hospice, so they can continue their fine local work.

Also on Sunday 9th October there is the final Rhinefield House wedding fair. This is another event we always try and attend – it’s a fabulous venue and this event attracts many of the areas top suppliers. So, while Ce is at Ampfield, I’ll be talking to couples at Rhinefield House. Join us on the 9th October in association with Stylish Events for our wedding fayre in the New Forest, entry includes a bridal bag and show guide and you can win holiday vouchers worth £1000 – see the Stylish Events website for more information CLICK HERE.

If YOU attend both events and say hello to Ce and I we’ll even give you a bottle of Prosecco (well I’ll pop it around to you the following week).

Finally, don’t forget my WOW wedding event on Tuesday 15th November – for more details CLICK HERE.

So that’s it for now, tomorrow I’ll be back with another testimonial but today it’s back to those Wedding Fair preparations!

New Forest Wedding DJ

As a New Forest Wedding DJ I get to play at some amazing venues. Last Thursday I was at Rhinefield House

I provided music for the wedding ceremony in the Grand Hall with my system tucked away at the rear of the room – you can see it behind the seats on the left of this picture.

Next it was music in the Lounge Bar for the drinks reception and then background music back in the Grand Hall for the wedding breakfast.

Finally I DJ’d their brilliant party in the Kings Hall.

I hope to post a full blog about this wedding once the happy couple have returned from their honeymoon.

Rhinefield is one of the many fantastic New Forest wedding venues I’ve had the privilege to perform at. If you’d like my feedback about any of them please let me know.

Sunday 10th April Hampshire Wedding Festival is being held in The New Forest at The New Forest Showground, New Park, Brockenhurst, Hampshire SO42 7QH.

This should be a great event. The organisers have already created, run and established The Dorset Wedding Festival, so I’m expecting great things. If you have children you may be interested to know that Freedom Childcare Services are running a free creche. The ticket prices are very reasonable and parking is free.

Tickets for the event can be ordered here.

So if you are looking for a New Forest Wedding DJ, look no further.
