Do you need a Celebrant? Earlier this year I became a member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants following training with them. I didn’t say much about it at the time, but the course was very good and the fellow delegates/students were lovely. I took the course to broaden my wedding knowledge, help me with my Love Story skills, and with another project in mind which will launch soon 😉 .
Anyway, I’m now offering my services as a Wedding Celebrant. Generally this will probably be separate from my other wedding services (certainly my DJ’ing), but I’ve been asked in the past to do this for couples so I’ve decided now is the time.
So, you may ask, what is a Celebrant and what do they do? Well, you may not be aware that many people are now choosing to do their legal declaration in the Registry Office and then having the rest of the ceremony, including the exchanging of rings and saying of vows, separately. This means they can have a truly personal ceremony where and when they want, without any of the restrictions enforced by the Registrars office or Church. I’m offering 3 couples my services as Celebrant for their wedding, or renewal of vows ceremony, for just £100. That’s a big discount on the normal fee and my service includes ceremony music which some Celebrants don’t supply.
