Happy New Year ~ It’s 2017

Happy New Year and thank you for reading these words!

As I sit and write this blog it’s really strange (and also brilliant) to think you want to read what I have to say – so whether you are a friend, a past client, somebody planning their wedding, or even another DJ checking me out, thanks.

2016 was a good year, it didn’t always run as expected but, all things considered, I’m very happy with how things went. That is not to say I’ll be resting on my laurels, 2017 is going to be another challenging year as I move forward.

Traditionally Christmas and New Year are a time when lots of couples get engaged ~ if that’s you, congratulations and Happy New Year! Here’s a video especially for you …

Also lots of couples planning their weddings suddenly realise that it’s “this year” and frantically start booking the final services they need ~ this often includes their entertainment! So if you haven’t got your ceremony music, wedding entertainment, master of ceremonies booked then get in touch soon. Because of my unique promise / guarantee (click here) my availability is very limited.

I’ll post again soon with details of wedding fairs and events I’ll be attending but here’s the first of the season NEXT SUNDAY 8th January, it’s The Hampshire Wedding Group at Ampfield Golf Club

So, Happy New Year, I hope 2017 is brings you health, happiness and love.

April Newsletter

Happy month! Welcome to my April Newsletter, a new feature for The Party DJ Blog.

Pauls-Guarantee-badge-2WEBSITE
March saw the launch of My Promise (CLICK HERE) ~ my unique guarantee for my clients. This is one of several tweaks I have planned for my website. I’m working closely with the brilliant (and he didn’t even tell me to say that) Deon Design on more great content.

You should be able to view my brochure on the site soon and a new booklet I’ve compiled of Real Weddings. Both are jam-packed full of great ideas to help create amazing weddings.

TRAINING
I started March with an advanced microphone technique course with Randy Bartlett after the ProMobile Conference. Getting good training and practice isn’t easy, especially locally and, on the advice of a couple of my colleagues based in Abingdon and West London, I’ve joined Hamwick Speakers ~ the local branch of Toastmasters International. This isn’t a group in the British red coated toastmasters tradition, it’s a speaking skills organisation with branches all over the World. If you’d like to know more about Toastmasters International please let me know.

MORE VIDEOS
Tomorrow I’ll publish Episode 19 in my ABC/123 Wedding tips video series. This one is on creating a great atmosphere at your Wedding Breakfast.

Episode 20 should be out next week with some more great advice on Ice Breakers to help you with that brilliant Wedding Breakfast. Then it’s on to some advice on Speeches.

Also this month expect a video on avoiding wedding stress. This is in response to me asking what topics you would like me to cover following on from “What If It Rains On My Wedding Day” (CLICK HERE) and “What If Nobody Dances At My Wedding” (CLICK HERE).

My Promise

It’s very difficult to describe what I do. I’m a DJ and I also frequently serve as a Master of Ceremonies, but there is much more to it than that. So I’ve made a few changes to my website and created “My Promise” ~ a unique guarantee for my couples.

Pauls-Guarantee-badge-2

I have many years of experience and have continued to invest in training and develop new skills. My journey is unique and yet I hear that other DJ’s “do what Paul does” … I don’t think so. No other DJ has the same experience or done the same training – others may have similar but nobody has the same and nobody, anywhere that I have seen is offering a guarantee that covers as much as this one.

Here’s a video that explains how and why I can offer my promise …

I’ve been thinking of offering a guarantee for a few years but only recently did everything fall into place. Many of my couples and fellow supplier friends encouraged me to “big myself up” more. I was overwhelmed with many of the comments made by last years Bride and Bridegrooms in support of my entry in the Wedding Industry Awards, so I’ve finally put this together.

Here it is in print …

I’m going to do everything I can to help you create the wedding day of your dreams.

I’ll be there for you whenever you need me, from the moment you book, throughout the planning process. Then, on your wedding day, I will be on hand from the beginning to the end, making sure you can relax and enjoy every precious moment.

I have never missed a wedding but if something terrible gets in the way I will refund you in full and find the best replacement I can and I will pay them.

I will do no more than 30 weddings in a year and I won’t be DJ’ing anywhere for 48 Hours before your wedding so I can be totally focused, fresh and ready to give your big day the attention to detail and love it deserves.

At the end of your wedding, if you feel you have had less than you’ve paid for, you can tell me what size refund you should receive, right up to your full fee.

I know how important this is to you, I promise I won’t let you down.

Thank you to everybody who has helped and encouraged me to get this far.

And that, dear reader, is My Promise to you.

Caroline & Ben
