Am I a wedding planner

Fortunately I know some amazing people ~ 2. Wedding Flowers

When you work as a wedding supplier, and your daughter asks you for recommendations, the pressure of being the Father of the Bride really clicks up a notch or two. Fortunately I know some amazing people, Carole from The Flower Stables is one of them. Carole was our first choice to supply the wedding flowers. We were delighted, and relieved, when she was available for Amy and Sean’s date. After the initial introduction I stepped back and Carole, Amy and the mums just got on with it.

Carole really helped develop the theme/style Amy had chosen for the day and provided wonderful displays of flowers, bouquets, corsages and buttonholes.

On the day she was there bright and early to make sure everything was perfect. She helped groomsmen with their buttonholes and explained to the bridesmaids how to best hold their bouquets for the photos. We were also able to make sure many of the centrepieces and displays were given to family and friends to take home the next day.

If you’re looking for a fabulous florist who will talk you through how to make the most of your wedding flowers Carole is well worth seeking out. For more information about The Flower Stables PLEASE CLICK HERE

Here’s a snap from my phone of Amy and her bridesmaids just before the ceremony with Carole looking on.

Bouquets and Buttonholes ~ Countdown … 13

Today’s tip in the Countdown to my “Creating Your WOW Wedding” evening is about flowers, specifically on Bouquets and Buttonholes. There is now just two weeks to go until Tuesday 15th November – reserve your places today – details below.

Here are a couple of top tips from my friend and fellow Hampshire Wedding Group member Carole Stables, owner of the Flower Stables based In Chandlers Ford Eastleigh (CLICK HERE).

“Whenever I deliver bouquets to the brides home or venue I also go through how to hold the bouquets correctly. If you hold a hand tied bouquet tilted forward slightly the photographs will show the true beauty of the flower heads and not from the side angle showing half the bouquet and stalks, a simple touch but this top tip will make all the difference to your photographs !”

“Never pin a buttonhole into the hole in the lapel of a man’s suit. The material will pucker and look untidy.  Pin buttonholes onto the fabric and ignore the hole in the lapel. I always help pin on buttonholes  whenever possible.”

That’s Bouquets and Buttonholes, there will be more great advice here tomorrow – and if you haven’t seen these before scroll back to see my previous blog posts.

My “Creating Your WOW Wedding” evening is on Tuesday 15th November at Ampfield Golf & Country Club. Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. I will go through the typical wedding timeline sharing dozens of fabulous ideas to help create an unforgettable wedding full of love and fun that your friends and family will never forget. It is not a sales event for me and is open to all couples whether they have a DJ/MC booked or not – there is absolutely no pressure to book me.

Admission to the event is £10 per couple and you can also bring guests if you wish. All the admission money will go to The Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity and there is also a full money-back guarantee where I will refund the £10 from my own pocket if anyone feels the evening wasn’t great value for money – the Charity will still get your £10 donation.

Bloomin’ Lovely

Flower Stables

I love flowers. It’s something that has been in my life ever since I can remember, my dad was a keen gardener and I also have early memories of my mum helping with the flower arranging at church.

If you look back through my blogs you’ll see I often use a cropped flower shot as a header on my entries.

One of the wonderful things about weddings is seeing all the different styles and designs of floristry and the wedding at Bartley Lodge on Easter Sunday was a good case in point, it looked “blooming’ lovely”! (see what I did there … comedy gold … or maybe not).

Everywhere I looked there seemed to be spring vases filled with tulips, spray roses, mini daffodils and lots of other spring favourites. The centre pieces at he wedding breakfast were more vases surrounding mini white bird cages for this Easter themed wedding, it was all so pretty.

I’m very lucky to know some brilliant florists, this was the work of the lovely Carole from The Flower Stables. You can see some more examples of her work here
