A while back we mentioned Joe had done 3 gigs in two days, we posted a vid for the “old school” gig and said we edit and publish the other one – well here it is.
This was a charity disco for kids in year 7 (first year at senior school) at the school where Joe is now. Originally we hoped to do two nights for different years but we ended up with just the one. It’s a very big hall and the turn-out was a bit disappointing but Joe did a great job under the circumstances. We’d expected the crowd to rock with Joe cutting up great mixes of the latest tunes but that wasn’t to be the case …
Yesterday, my DJ buddy, Steve called to say we’ve been invited to do a 2 hour weekly show for an internet radio station as part of our Gold project.
Three hours later Joe and I and a couple of friends were at the Academy in Boscombe watching Deadmau5. Suffice it to say he was fabulous and the sound was awesome.
This afternoon Joe and I have a school disco for eighty children aged between 4 and 7.

Steve and I have just announced our first gig under the Gold banner. On Friday 30th (next week) we are at the Happy Cheese in Ashurst for an early Halloween party. Busy week for Joe this week. We have loads of footage to edit for his Wednesday gig, but in the meantime here’s Thursdays brilliant junior school disco.
We do the lower school between 5 and 6:30 and then the upper school from 7 to 8:30 … then we collapse! It really was a great evening – everyone was fabulous, teachers, parents, kids and even Joe!

Over the last few years I’ve been sucked into the phenomenon that is X-Factor. Now I know many people will think I’ve lost the plot but I can’t help it. Some of you will know I even had local entrants Afrodisiac perform at my 50th party a couple of years ago.
Yesterday it was the results show and I was particularly impressed with the two special guests.
First up last years winner Alexandra Burke and her new single “Bad Boys” featuring Flo Rida – it’s quite a performance.
Now following that is wasn’t going to be easy!
But up comes Robbie, back from the wilderness, with his new single “Bodies”.
He looked really wired but I thought it worked well and he is obviously back – big time!
Bless him, what a performer.
I draw the line at X-Factor, I DON’T WATCH STRICTLY …
but this afternoon I picked up on this from another blog.
This is Dionne Broomfield, she’s Amy Winehouse’s goddaughter.
We first saw her on Youtube a couple of months ago in the second video of her below.
This Saturday she made her first TV performance on Strictly, and was introduced by Brucie, with Amy on backing vocals – not a bad start to her career!
Last weekend Joe and I took a trip to see BPM, a show for DJ’s, at the NEC in Birmingham. The show was over 2 days and, as well as lots of fantastic equipment, seminars and showcases, we were able to meet up with some of the people who have helped us via the net. People like Ellaskins and Brian S Redd from DJ Tutor (pictured above), and Simon from The DJ Business who very kindly made and posted this video of us at the show!

When I first heard Deadmau5 this track was just a fantastic instrumental. With the added vocals of Pendulum’s Rob Squire, the track totally changes but is still great!
