Katy & Mike’s First Dance

Another quick look at last Saturday’s wedding.

Katy & Mike chose this beautiful track by Leona Lewis for their first dance.

Look …

Look who drove Katy and Mike to their wedding reception! Can you see Hedwig in the cage on the roof rack?

Here’s Katy and Mike on the top of their cake ~ I’ll reveal more soon 😉

Kirstie & Darren

Saturday’s wedding … where to begin!

I’ll post more soon, but for now let’s focus on their first dance as husband and wife. For this special moment Kirstie and Darren chose Ellie Goulding’s version of Your Song

Following that Kirstie danced with her Dad, Colin, and Darren with his Mum, Rita, to this beautiful song from Faith Hill.

Jen & Martin’s Wedding (2)

I first met Jen and Martin at a wedding fair way back in April 2010. Over a year later they contacted me and I went to their place for a chat and they booked me to play at their reception which finally happened last month ~ 28 months after that first chat.

They actually got married in 2010 but wanted to renew their vows and have a big party for their family and friends, so that’s what they did on a beautiful Summer’s day at Marwell. I was booked to provide the evening entertainment which was held in the marquee at the rear of the hall in the walled garden, it’s a lovely setting right in the centre of the zoo – you may well have walked past it not realising it was even there.

It was a great evening with many special moments including a dance-off, an “In The Night Garden” dance for Jen and Martin’s lovely daughter Jasmine, a dance for Nana, and Jen seeing her Dad dance for the first time in her life!

Here’s a video I cobbled together from clips and photo’s I snapped on the night ~ as always please remember I’m not a photographer or a videographer and this is something I just try and do if I have time, it’s not a service I supply or charge for, it’s just a bit of fun.

Here’s one last picture of a fabulous couple … and their very happy DJ

Sunday @ St Mary’s

I’ll be there and providing the soundtrack for the fashion shows.

Come and say hello ~ FREE entry!

Kind words from Kelly & Bobby

A few days back I posted a video I cobbled together following Kelly & Bobby’s wedding at Bartley Lodge. As I mentioned I don’t put things in the public domain unless the couple give their consent – here’s the email I received.

Hi Paul

Hope your keeping well, out of all the pictures I have seen from the wedding your video below is the first glimpse of the day that made me cry thank you sooo much for putting it together and please yes could you make it public so everyone else can view it as well.

Me and Bobby and our families and friends cannot thank you enough for being part of our special day, you were much much more than just a dj you provided a top quality service that I don’t think anyone else could have pulled it off, you truly were a diamond on the day and everyone has said what a lovely person you were, easy to get along with and kept everything on track.

Thank you for going into so much detail with all our song choices even though I couldn’t just sit down and listen to everything you played I will always remember everytime I heard what was playing at a particular moment of the day thinking ohh I love this song lol and the evening party went off exactly how I wanted it to it was perfect and thank you for letting me get on the mic everytime I wanted to 🙂

I am just going to go and post a thanks on fb and your website, if anyone ever asks me for a dj in future I will definitely recommend you and if we have any birthdays/christenings I may call you up to see if you aren’t busy you would do us a one off favour as it doesn’t seem real now you have been such a special part of our special day we won’t get to see you again.

Again Paul I cannot thank you enough you really did do a fantastic job.
We really hope you carry on making other couples days so special for many more years to come.

Love
Kelly

Kelly also posted a fabulous thank you on my The Party DJ FaceBook page ~ thanks!

As I told Kelly and Bobby, it was my absolute honour to share their very special day. The whole day was full of brilliant individual touches, the requested soundtrack was totally unique, everything came together to make an unforgettable day.

If you are planning your big day do what Kelly did, treat it as a blank page and write down what you want, think of ways to really reflect your dreams, and make your wedding a total WOW! I have a PDF full of ideas that I send out to anyone who’s interested so drop me a line if you’d like a copy. paul@thepartydj.co.uk

Georgina’s Wedding Blog Update

You may remember a while ago I posted the first four in a series of Wedding Blogs from a lady called Georgina (comedy writer and actress Anna Morris), if you missed them CLICK HERE

I’m pretty sure the wedding was this month – I wonder if it will actually go ahead (yes I know it’s all a spoof, but how will it end?) I believe Georgina / Anna is currently performing at the Edinburgh fringe. Anyway, here are the latest 3 videos in the series …

Kelly & Bobby’s video

You may notice that sometimes there can be a lengthy delay between an event and some of my posts. The reasons for this are that I’m busy doing other things and, more importantly that I always like to show the couples what I’d like to publish first.

So let’s go back to 21st July and Kelly and Bobby’s very special day at the Bartley Lodge. Kelly and Bobby’s wedding was awesome on so many levels. I was with them for the whole day supplying music and host services throughout.

I’d like to say a special thank you to Peter and his team at The Bartley Lodge, along with Donna and Alan from Digitally Different Photography who were all such a joy to work alongside. CLICK HERE to see Donna and Alan’s blog of the wedding.

This video should give you a flavour of a truly memorable day.

Last Saturday …

Last Saturday was a very special day. I know I go on about how much I love what I do, but really, what’s not to love!

This was my first visit to Winslowe House, a truly exceptional wedding location. The attention to detail and quality of service provided was second to none, and I can’t wait for my next visit there in August.

The Civil Ceremony was held in The Barford Room

The Bride and Bridegroom were Rachel and Gareth who, along with their parents, Sue and Steve, Shirley and Terry, had planned a really unique wedding. I provided ceremony music, and then music for the drinks out on the terrace, wedding breakfast, and of course the evening party. I also acted on their behalf as Wedding Compere and helped direct everyone throughout the day.

I staged, what I like to call, Grand Entrances for all the members of the Wedding party as they entered the wedding breakfast. Then they had a table quiz during the meal and I announced the answers and the winning table before I introduced the Speeches, including a very funny speech from the 3 Best Men.

Gareth’s Three Best Men

I’ll probably post more about this lovely day over the coming weeks but I just wanted to share the two messages, with their owners consent, I received the very next day.

First came this one from the Bride who had only just arrived at their honeymoon location …

Paul I just wanted to say a massive thank you from me and Gareth for your amazing help yesterday – we had the best day ever and we can’t thank you enough for helping us make our day so special! Thank you thank you thank you! X

and also this one from Sue, the Mother of the Bride …

Hi Paul,
Just wanted to say a massive thank you for making Rachel and Gareths dream wedding come true. You are truly outstanding at the job you do and you go out of your way to make things perfect.
If any one wants an outstanding D J to make there wedding the best ever you are definitely the perfect choice.
Sue. x

Thank you so much ladies for your very kind words.

Rachel & Gareth’s first dance

As I said at the top, “what’s not to love”! I’m very lucky to have discovered this new role as a DJ and Party Host and even luckier to have such wonderful families to have fun with.

The cake baked with love by Rachel the Bride

Friday …

Where did that week go!

I’ve had a couple of meetings with clients, spent time with other fine Hampshire based DJ’s and had a breakfast with a new group of Wedding suppliers.

Now, finally, we are the day before Rachel and Gareth’s wedding. I’ve just had a quick word with the Bride and now I’m playing through the beautiful music she has selected with her fiancé for their ceremony. The venue is fabulous, the couple are really lovely, I can’t wait!
